Tiny voices rose, little faces sparkled, and the stage blossomed into a garden of words, rhythm and imagination as the Pre-Primary Section of Unity College hosted a delightful Poetry Recitation Competition on 17 September 2026. The event was graced by Jt Secretary Dr M Talha, Principal Mr Deepak Mervyn Mathews and Vice Principal Mr Sachindra Bharti.

The programme began with a warm welcome by Ms Afreen Rizvi, followed by Tilawat-e-Quran and verses from the Bhagavad Gita and Holy Bible presented by ShadmaZehra of Class V-C and InayaAqeel of Class V-A, respectively. The opening beautifully celebrated peace, harmony and respect for all faiths.

The little performers charmed everyone with their lively recitations. LN-A presented ‘Little Seed’, LN-B ‘True Friends’ and LN-C ‘Imagine’. UN-A presented ‘What a Wonderful World’, UN-B ‘A Parent’s Love’ and UN-C ‘Why God Made Teachers’. Prep-A presented Maya Angelou’s ‘Still I Rise’, while Prep-B recited ‘Benefits of Trees’ and Prep-C brought the four seasons to life through ‘The Seasons’. Each performance sparkled with cheerful actions, expressive faces, voice modulation and growing confidence.

Dr Talha praised the children’s innocence, enthusiasm and developing talents. Principal Mr Mathews appreciated their efforts and encouraged them to focus on clear, expressive recitation rather than relying heavily on props. Vice Principal Mr Bharti applauded the children and teachers for their dedication. Judges Ms Farheen Fatima Naqvi of the Secondary Section and Ms Sakeena Raza of the Primary Section appreciated the children’s expressions, confidence and hard work, while encouraging greater emphasis on clear pronunciation, voice modulation and expressive recitation.

As a gesture of appreciation, Pre-Primary Coordinator Ms SabicaZehra presented saplings and cards to the esteemed judges.

Certificates were presented to the first-position winners: LN-C, UN-C and Prep-C.

Ms Rizvi proposed the Vote of Thanks, expressing gratitude to the dignitaries, Pre-Primary Coordinator, judges, teachers, staff and students.

As the little voices faded from the stage, they left behind a garden of smiles, confidence and beautiful memories — proving that even the smallest voices can create the brightest moments.
