'Education and its power to drive a generation is undoubtedly the most formidable of all pillars that our society is built on.' Spread across a 4.75 acres green campus nestled amidst the architectural grandeur of old Lucknow, Unity College was founded in 1987 under the banner of TMT (Tauheedul Muslimeen Trust), a non-profit organization established by (Padma Bhushan) Late Dr. S. Kalbe Sadiq with an aim to build an institution par excellence.

The College has carved a niche for itself as an institution imparting the finest education to pupils entrusted to its care. In these years Unity College endeavoured kindling a fire in the young minds of its pupils, preparing them for a world of tomorrow, full of challenges. The College follows the Indian Certificate of Secondary Education (ICSE) up to the XII grade and offers courses in Humanities, Commerce and Science. The student body of about 2000 boys and girls is divided into four Houses viz. Gandhi House, Iqbal House, Sir Syed House and Tagore House. Cultural activities and games are an essential part of the curriculum. Rated as one of the best Colleges in the city, Unity consistently endeavours providing fine Education to all who enter its doors that encourages growth, fosters creativity, exploration and discovery; where children can find magic in the mundane and broaden their intellectual, physical and emotional horizons. The institution prepares students to embark on a journey of academic as well as personal excellence. It is perceived as an institution apart, for it has a fine blend of academics, sports and culture.

DIGITAL EDUCATION

With the introduction to digital education in the college, learning has become easier, more collaborative and interesting. The college uses latest digital media tools to facilitate adaptive learning curriculum that connects students of all learning styles. Equipping students with these learning tools and technology enables them to develop self-directed learning skills which in turn increase their efficiency and productivity. Digital learning solutions based on problem-based learning emphasize on learning methods that are constructive, collaborative and calls the students' attention to a real-world approach to learning.

UNITY MISSION SCHOOL

Unity College II shift was established in 1999 under the banner of TMT- a non-profit organization established by Dr. S. Kalbe Sadiq for the education, social and material upliftment of the underprivileged community. Started with just sixty students, the mission school imparts free education to nearly 600 students, heralding a literacy awakening among the slum-dwellers and small time hawkers and petty workers of this old city locality. We provide free education, books, uniforms and medical facilities to the poor children.

COUNSELLING

The college provides a free and confidential counseling service. It has employed a guidance counselor to deal with the emotional upheavals and uncertainties of adolescence along with minor and major irritants. The work involves a lot of liaising between parents, teachers and students. Career counseling by specialized agencies is also given to the students of class IX-XII to identify their capacities and potential and to provide them guidance in study skills and entrance requirements for competitive examinations.

SCHOLARSHIPS

The college offers scholarships to the financially weak as well as meritorious students. These include scholarships for toppers of ICSE and ISC examination and for exceptional performance in Mathematics, Science and Biology.

TEACHING TRAINING

Teacher quality is the strength of Unity College. Ensuring the quality of teachers, teacher education programs are conducted for its teaching faculty round the year and continuous, well organized training is given in quality teaching methodologies, aimed at preventing obsolescence in their knowledge and skills and fostering mental and physical renewal.

MAIN EVENTS

The College hosts an array of events throughout the academic session like Sports Day, Bal Mela, Art and Craft Exhibition, Hindi and Urdu Cultural Programme, Felicitation Ceremony which in the past has been graced by eminent personalities like the ex-President of India Mr. A P J Abdul Kalam, ex-Chief Justice Mr Ahmadi and Former External Affairs Minister Mr. Salman Khursheed.

The college has also successfully hosted coveted Inter School events like 'Zest-Fest', Mushtaq Naqvi Memorial Inter School Debate Competitions, AISC Zonal Level drawing, creative writing and debate competition as well as Frank Anthony Memorial All India Inter School Debate Competition.
