Unity College had the honour of welcoming the Commanding Officer of 19 UP Girls Battalion, Col Dinesh Kumar Pathak, on December 3, 2025. The NCC cadets accorded him a formal reception, standing in disciplined formation as he arrived on campus. Principal Mr Deepak Mervyn Mathews extended a warm welcome to the honourable guest.
The visit began with a meeting of Col Pathak with Secretary Mr Najmul Hasan Rizvi, Managing Committee Members, Principal Mr Mathews, and Vice Principal Mr Sachindra Bharti, during which they discussed the progress and activities of the NCC unit at Unity College. This was followed by an inspection of the NCC Room, where the Commanding Officer carefully reviewed the registers, training schedules, and documentation related to cadet activities. He expressed satisfaction over the organisation and preparedness of the unit.
A special assembly was organised in the Central Hall to mark the occasion. Addressing the cadets, Col Pathak delivered an inspiring and insightful speech, emphasising discipline, dedication, patriotism, and the importance of NCC training in shaping responsible citizens. He also awarded the NCC ‘A’ Certificates to cadets of the previous year, appreciating their commitment and perseverance.
The programme concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks by Mr Najmul Hasan, who acknowledged the Commanding Officer’s valuable guidance and praised the discipline, enthusiasm, and exemplary conduct of the NCC cadets. He further appreciated the tireless efforts of ANO Ms Nilofer Jafri, whose dedication continues to strengthen the NCC unit of Unity College.
This visit further reinforced the College’s commitment to strengthening its NCC programme, which continues to play a vital role in nurturing confident, disciplined, and service-oriented young leaders.
