CHAMPS 2025, a unique academic initiative, was successfully organised on April 14, 2025, by the Tauheedul Muslimeen Trust (TMT), a philanthropic organisation established by the Padma Bhushan awardee, the late Dr Kalbe Sadiq Sahib. Designed to foster self-evaluation, CHAMPS enables students to recognise their strengths and areas for growth, while promoting academic and personal development. It also extends support to underprivileged youth through skill development, mentoring, and career guidance. Unlike conventional syllabus-based assessments, CHAMPS challenges students beyond textbook learning and aims to identify average and below-average learners for focused improvement in literacy and numeracy through dedicated TMT initiatives.
This large-scale assessment was conducted across 45 examination centres across Uttar Pradesh, drawing enthusiastic participation from over 10,000 students of classes IV to XI. Key centres in the city included Unity College, St John’s School, and Muftiganj Girls’ Inter College. Nearly all students of classes IV and XI from Unity College and Unity II Shift took part in the test.
The examination was held in four categories:
Category A: Classes IV and V
Category B: Classes VI and VII
Category C: Classes VIII and IX
Category D: Classes X and XI
The smooth and fair conduction of the examination was ensured by the tireless efforts of over 200 invigilators and volunteers, with the guidance of more than 12 dedicated supervisors. The occasion was graced by esteemed dignitaries including Mr Amir Ahmed Zaidi (Nihal), Dr Kalbe Sibtain Noorie, Maulana Sadaf Tanveer Abbas, Shastri Farhat Ejaz, and Mr Deepak Mervyn Matthews, Principal of Unity College.
CHAMPS 2024 stands as a remarkable stride towards educational empowerment, sowing seeds of ambition, self-awareness, and purpose in young learners across the state.
