“Leaders are not born; but they are made!”

A school is the very place where leaders are fashioned, honed and bred. The Investiture Ceremony at school is an important occasion where the high landing students are prepared to don the mantle of leadership and discharge the responsibilities entrusted upon them by the school. This Ceremony is not just about providing titles, but about conferring responsibilities to the students, to represent the student body and to assist the College Management and Teachers in the interest of the School. Besides, delegation of responsibility and giving authority to children is important as it teaches them lifelong skills of being powerful and caring at the same time.

It was a proud moment as Unity College held the much awaited 'Investiture Ceremony' for the academic session 2022-23 amidst the dignity and fervour of school spirit. The Senior Office Bearers were inducted on 8th July, while the Juniors on 13th July. Prior to the Ceremony, scrutinous interviewing followed the selection of the Prefectorial Board.

The event was presided over by Principal Mr. Francis Castelino. He administered the newly invested office bearers' pledge to bestow their duties to the best of their abilities and to work for the greater glory of God, the country and countrymen. Donning the mantle of accountability, they were honoured with their respective badges and sashes such as Head Boy, Head Girl and other designations. It was a grand spectrum as the College Flag and House Flags were handed over to them amidst loud applause and broad smiles. 

Mr. Castelino exhorted the Cabinet to render their duties with a unified zeal for the betterment of the institution. They themselves should be disciplined, dedicated, well-mannered and supportive, and become an inspiration for others.

Head Boy S. Tauseef Hasan of XII C and Head Girl Qaima Zehra of XII A expressed gratitude for the reliance and confidence that the College consigned to them. Addressing their fellow students, they stressed on discipline that is the core of success.

The Investiture ceremony was conducted with a high degree of earnestness and passion, and concluded with a belief that the child centric approach will frame responsible citizens who would carry out their duties with integrity, faith and excellence. The National Anthem marked the closure of the function.
