A heartfelt farewell was organised for the students of Class XII on January 30, 2025, in the Central Hall of Unity College.
The presence of esteemed dignitaries—Secretary Mr Najmul Hasan Rizvi, Jt Secretary Dr M Talha, Principal Mr Deepak Mervyn Mathews, Vice Principal Mr Sachindra Bharti, Headmistress Ms Kainaat Mansoor, Administrative Officer Mr Farman Kazmi, and the respected teachers—added grace to the occasion.
To commemorate Martyr's Day, a special prayer echoed with the soulful bhajanRaghupatiRaghav Raja Ram, evoking a deep sense of patriotism. The anchors for the day, Tuba Ahmad (XI-C) and Insha Haider (XI-C), brought enthusiasm and energy to the event. Fatima Ahmad (XI-B) delivered a heartfelt farewell speech in Bollywood style, bidding adieu to her seniors in a unique manner. A poignant moment followed as Tasveer Fatima (XI-B) recited her self-composed Nazm, which deeply moved her seniors.
The farewell was themed 'Cinema,' and the students of class XI brought the concept to life with a lively skit portraying different Bollywood characters. The performance, infused with humour and nostalgia, beautifully depicted school life through a cinematic lens and was met with resounding applause.
Adding to the fun, engaging games like 'Whisper Challenge', 'Dialogue Chair', 'Object Pick Up', and 'Guess the Movie' had everyone in fits of laughter. The event was further elevated in spirit with a melodious medley by Basilah Husain (XI-A) and Fatima Moosvi (XI-D), transporting the audience into a world of music and joy.
Principal Mr Mathews addressed the students, imparting words of wisdom and extending his best wishes for the upcoming Board examinations and future endeavours. He commended the class XII batch for their exemplary discipline throughout the year. Through the inspiring tale of a boy and a balloon seller, he urged students to set ambitious goals and embrace their uniqueness to stand out from the crowd.
Mr Mohd Mohiuddin, Mr Rajesh Pandey, and Mr Monis Naqvi expressed their gratitude by presenting a token of appreciation to Principal Mr Deepak Mervyn Mathews, Vice Principal Mr Sachindra Bharti, and Headmistress Ms Kainaat Mansoor. Additionally, Jt Secretary Dr M Talha honoured all class XI teachers with a token of appreciation.
As emotions ran high, Head Boy Abbas Saeed (XII-B), Head Girl Hal Ata Abbas (XII-A), Razia Batool (XII-C), and Tatheer Fatima (XII-D) shared their cherished memories of their time at Unity College, reminiscing about their journey and experiences. A special souvenir was presented to the seniors and their class teachers as a token of remembrance.
The Photography Club compiled a heartfelt video capturing special moments of the Class XII batch, leaving the audience teary-eyed with nostalgia. The event's poignant moments were skilfully captured by Photography Club members Mirza Saif Husain, Mohd Anas, and Abdul AquibMurtaza (IX-B).
Senior teacher Ms Nisar Fatima Rizvi extended her best wishes to the outgoing students, encouraging them to strive for excellence in their future pursuits. She also reassured the students that the College fraternity would always support them.
The highlight of the farewell was a contest that was held to select Ms and Mr Farewell. Riza Amir (XII-A) and Ali Zaidi (XII-D) bagged the titles by impressing judges Mr Mathews, Mr Bharti and Ms Mansoor with their eloquent answers.
It was followed by the 'Title Giving Ceremony,' where students were honoured with unique titles reflecting their personalities, like 'Dynamite,' 'Tech Guru,' 'Musical Maestro,' 'Van Gogh,' 'Sapphire Stare,' 'Lady Luminance,' and 'Miss Starlet.' The prestigious titles of Ms Unity and Mr Unity were awarded to Hal Ata Abbas (XII-A) and Abbas Saeed (XII-B) respectively.
Vice Principal Mr Bharti showered his blessings on the seniors and motivated them to embrace the future with confidence. He also thanked the management, dignitaries, teachers, and students for being part of the event. He concluded his speech with the famous lines, ‘Beete Hue Lamhonki KasakSaathto Hogi.’
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Sara Iqbal (XI-C), expressing gratitude to all those who contributed to making the event special. The event concluded, leaving behind a tapestry of nostalgia, laughter, and cherished moments—a day of joy, unity, and memories destined to last a lifetime.
