PHARMACY CAREER SESSION HELD

An informative session on Pharmacy was conducted on February 7, 2025, at Unity College for class XI students. The session aimed to introduce students to the field of Pharmacy, its various branches, and career prospects.

The resource person, Mr Nirankar Pandey from Hygia Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research, Lucknow, was warmly welcomed by English teacher Ms Sarah Abbas. Mr Pandey began by explaining the fundamental concept of Pharmacy, which involves the manufacturing and synthesis of medicines and their effects on the human body. He provided insights into the three major courses in the field: Diploma in Pharmacy, Bachelor of Pharmacy (B. Pharm), and Post Graduate Diploma in Pharmaceutical Management (PGDM). He further elaborated on the key areas of study, including Pharmaceutics, Pharmacology, Pharmacognosy, and Pharmaceutical Chemistry.

The session also highlighted the vast career opportunities in pharmacy, spanning science, healthcare, direct patient care, computer information technology, and business.

Mr Pandey guided students on the stepwise preparation required to pursue a career in this field and the examinations they need to qualify. His talk emphasised the benefits of a career in pharmacy, including flexible work schedules, professional growth, and entrepreneurial opportunities.

The session concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by College Counsellor Ms Nisar Fatima Rizvi. The informative session provided valuable insights, encouraging students to explore pharmacy as a promising career option.
