An exhilarating Inter-House Maths Quiz was organised for students of classes IV and V of the Primary Section on February 6, 2025, in the Central Hall of Unity College. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from young mathematicians, eager to put their problem-solving skills to the test. Dignitaries in attendance included Secretary Mr Najmul Hasan Rizvi, Jt Secretary Dr M Talha, Principal Mr Deepak Mervyn Mathews, Vice-Principal Mr Sachindra Bharti and Headmistress Ms Kainaat Mansoor. The quiz was successfully conducted under the able guidance of PrimaryIn Charge Ms Tazeen Rizvi and teachers Ms Tasneem Zehra, Ms Ruby Rizvi, Ms Sadaf Khan, and Ms Sahifa Rizvi.
The quiz comprised six exciting rounds: MCQs, Magic Squares, Cross Roads, Fun Time, Buzzer, and Rapid Fire. In the MCQs Round, students were required to select and answer the correct option for each question. The Magic Squares Round tested their ability to complete a magic square within three minutes, while Cross Roads challenged their analytical skills by making them navigate a logical path to the end. The Fun Time Round brought an element of entertainment as students solved intriguing scenarios. The Buzzer Round was open to all participants, demanding quick reflexes, and the Rapid Fire Round tested their speed in answering mathematical questions.
The event was not only a competition but also a valuable learning experience. Secretary Mr Rizvi congratulated the winners and emphasised the importance of teamwork and Mental Maths. Jt Secretary Dr Talha praised the event, describing it as one of the best conducted throughout the year. Principal Mr Mathews encouraged students to be confident and trust their instincts, highlighting that mathematics is a skill that strengthens critical thinking. Headmistress Ms Mansoor expressed her gratitude to the teachers for the smooth execution of the event and acknowledged their efforts in honing students’ mathematical, reasoning, and problem-solving skills.
