On February 1, 2025, Sir Syed House of Unity College conducted its House Assembly, commemorating Coast Guard Day with great enthusiasm. The occasion was graced by the presence of Principal Mr Deepak Mervyn Mathews and Vice Principal Mr Sachindra Bharti. The assembly was meticulously prepared under the guidance of Housemaster Mr Mirza Saif Husain and English teacher Ms Sarah Abbas.
The proceedings commenced with a recitation from the Holy Quran by Mohd Fauzan (VI-B), followed by its translation read by Mohd Arham (VI-B). Reaffirming the values of the College, Rohma Arif (IX-B) led the students in the pledge, instilling a sense of commitment and responsibility. Sara Zehra (VII-A) then presented the news headlines, keeping the audience informed about current affairs.
A highlight of the assembly was a speech by Aliza Zehra (VII-C) on the significance of Coast Guard Day. She eloquently outlined the vital role of the Coast Guard in safeguarding the nation’s waters, ensuring coastal security, and conducting search and rescue operations. She urged everyone to acknowledge and appreciate the relentless dedication of these brave personnel.
The assembly also included a melodious rendition of the College Tarana by Marziya Zehra (IX-B), Misbah Abbas (IX-B), and Insiya Fatima Rizvi (IX-B), showcasing unity and pride. Adding an element of inspiration, Mantasha Zehra (VII-C) shared an uplifting thought, setting a positive tone for the day.
Vice Principal Mr Sachindra Bharti commended Sir Syed House for their well-organised and impactful assembly. He also took the opportunity to praise the class XI students for hosting a memorable farewell for their seniors, extending his appreciation to their class teachers for their support.
The assembly concluded with the National Anthem, reflecting the patriotic spirit of the Coast Guard and honouring their unwavering commitment to the Nation.
