Eid is a day of celebration, an end to a month-long of discipline and fasting which is celebrated with great zest. The word Eid translates to festivity where people around the world try to show unity. 

The Pre-Primary Section at Unity College, Lucknow celebrated Eid Milan with great zest, to educate the children on the values and objectives behind the celebration of Eid. Teachers discussed about the importance of this festival that Eid is a time to share happiness. The students of classes LN, UN and Prep were involved in card making activity based on the theme of Eid in which they learnt to make Eid cards, moon and paper purses to gift toffees to each other. Our little Unitians greeted each other ‘EID Mubarak’ with love and affection. Moreover, children brought dry snacks for teachers as well. Both teachers and children enjoyed the Eid celebration whole heartedly. 

Festivals are perceived as an important part of education as they can help to create a sense of national or cultural community among the students. Celebration of festivals brings students closer to a traditional belief, thereby imbibing religious tolerance and understanding of different faiths in the impressionable minds of young students.
