On September 13, 2024, the Pre-Primary Section of the College celebrated Red Day with a series of engaging and educational activities tailored to each class level. The day’s events highlighted the colour red and its significance, offering students a unique opportunity to explore and appreciate this vibrant hue in various learning contexts.
In Lower Nursery, the Red Day Activity involved two main tasks: sorting red objects and pasting red bits of paper onto printouts of an apple, strawberry, cherry, and tomato. These activities were designed to help young learners recognise and identify basic colours, providing a hands-on approach to understanding the colour red.
Moving to Upper Nursery, the Red Day celebration offered a more advanced exploration of the colour red. Children participated in sorting and jumping on different red shapes, enhancing their cognitive skills through interactive play. Students were dressed in red attire and brought red flowers and red fruits in their tiffin, creating a vibrant and immersive learning environment.
In the Prep class, activities were designed to deepen students' understanding of primary colours. The children and teachers donned red clothes and engaged in a creative project where they illustrated the life cycle of an apple, strawberry, and watermelon using red glitter sheets. This activity, complemented by decorative items, not only highlighted the colour red but also provided a visual and interactive experience that enriched the children's learning.
Overall, Red Day was a success across all levels, offering students a chance to explore and celebrate the colour red through a variety of engaging activities.
