A grand felicitation ceremony was organised at Hotel VishwanathCharbagh by the District Arm Wrestling Unit to celebrate the achievements of gold and silver medal winners who represented Lucknow in the National Arm Wrestling Championship held in Mumbai. The honoured athletes received trophies, certificates, shawls, and cash awards.

Rabab Fatima (VIII-B) of Unity College represented Lucknow in the youth category as part of the state team at the National Arm Wrestling Championship in Mumbai from June 29 to July 1, 2024, earning a silver medal.

The chief guest, Dr. Anil Kumar Patel (IFS), Chairman of District Arm Wrestling, travelled from Agra to honour the winners. He encouraged the participants and emphasised the importance of indigenous sports. Special guest Mr Najmul Hasan Rizvi, Secretary of Unity College, also spoke on the significance of indigenous sports and urged schools to increase their participation.

Advocate A.K. Saxena, UP General Secretary of the Non-Olympic Association, addressed the gathering, providing information on various sports associated with the organisation. He appreciated the District Arm Wrestling Association for their efforts in honouring the winners and expressed that this recognition would inspire more children to join the sport. He also commended the parents for their support.

The event was graced by notable dignitaries, including the Principal of Unity College Mr Deepak Mathews, Vice Chairman of the District Unit Shri T.B. Singh, MrBhagwan Prasad Patel, President Mr Anil Kumar Srivastava, Secretary MrMukesh Bahadur, and Treasurer Mr Ajay Kumar Srivastava. They all encouraged the medal winners and celebrated their achievements.
