Teaching and learning sessions are crucial to the continual development of the teaching staff at any educational institution.The ASEEMA CHARITABLE TRUSTconducted a training module on the Montessori Philosophy of Education for the teachers of the Pre-Primary Section at UnityCollege Lucknow between 19th to 24thJanuary,2023 with an aim to enhance the overall productivity and effectiveness of the educational instruction.Teachers from both the Morning and II Shift as well as several teachers from the associated Unity Education Program (UEP)schools across the state attended the session.

ASEEMA, an NGO from Mumbai, aims to provide quality education to underprivileged children, and has been working towards its goal since the last 25 years. Originally beginning with 18 students, ASEEMA now works to help over 2000 students across India.

The trainers Ms. Geeta Subedar and Ms. Reshma Mulla, guided the teachers on how to nurture their inherent abilities, while adopting a confident positive, energetic, patient, and cheerful approach to resolve their problems with ease.

The main objectives of the session were to enhance the teaching - learning process using different teaching aids and mechanisms, to make the learning process easy, interesting,& innovative and to enhance the participation and learning curve of the students. 

The session started with an interesting ‘Ice Breaking Activity’ wherein the teacherswere asked to draw pictures and define the meanings of their names through them. Throughout the course of the module the teachers took part in various activities that would help them create a bond with the students as well as assist the holistic development of the students, both physical & mental.

Not only were the sessions interactive, innovative, and informative, the insights they provided into the teacher-student relationship, was a spiritually enlightening experience.
