UNITY SHOWCASING SPORTIVE SPIRIT

“Impossible is just a big word thrown around by small men who find it easier to live in the world they’ve been given than to explore the power they have to change it. Impossible is not a fact. It’s an opinion. Impossible is not a declaration. It’s a dare. Impossible is potential. Impossible is temporary. Impossible is nothing.” – Muhammad Ali
After a hiatus of three years due to the looming fear of the Pandemic, Unity College organised yet againits signature event –The Annual Sports Day on 3rd December, 2022. The day dawned with vibrant energy and a sportive spirit all over the festively decorated ground.  A mystic string of thrilling sports events constituted the day of sprightly performances and winning vibrancies.

The divine renditions from the Quran, the Bhagwad Geeta and the Bible sparked off the soulful beginning. Rare is the institution which practices such religious unity and integrity. The mellifluous College Tarana struck the very chord of school spirit, while the Sports Captain (Boy) Mohd Zaid and Sports Captain (Girl) Sania Zehra lit the torch of sportsmanship. Dr.Saraswat declared the Meet open by releasing a bunch of myriad coloured balloons that soared majestically high in the sky as a mark of zeal, energy and healthy competition.
It was followed by the spectacular MARCH-PAST with well synchronised swinging of arms and thudding of feet to the sprightly beats of the College Band. The dedicated battalion of NCC Cadets too joined the College Contingent. Then the field and track events and Inter-House relay races for Senior and Junior boys sparked loud cheers of Houses egging on their teams. The same events for girls too were held a day prior the meet showcasing energy, speed and agility. The winners were awarded with prizes.
The most fascinating moments involving mass participation of students offered an eye feasting panorama of colour, music and action. The first in the order came the Tiny Tots of Pre-Primary spreading their pristine and cherubic charm all over as they performed the lively drill ‘School Chalo’. It stole the hearts of the onlookers. Then class I and II rocked the field with energy, cheerfulness and vitality with the pom-pom performance ‘Love You Zindagi’. Class III and IV enthralled the spectators as they showcased melodious Dandiya ‘Zumba’. Class V presented a meticulous drill of ‘Robotics’ at par excellence with the background music, thrilling steps and scintillating moves. Classes VI to VIII (Girls) put up a fan drill ‘Tri-Colour Melodies’. The tri-colour melody was put in sync with the serene notes of ‘Jai Ho &Sare Jahan se Achha’. While the boys showcased ‘Yoga for Strength and Peace’. Their mesmerising formations and well suited stimulating music swayed the onlookers. As was the stirring beginning, so was the dare devil culmination. The breathtaking jumps through the ring of fire evoked awe and wonder.
The curtain drew on the sportive arena of sizzling performance and with the vote of thanks by Secretary Mr. Najmul Hasan Rizvi.
